3D printing is a process for making a physical object from a three-dimensional digital model, typically by laying down many successive thin layers of a material.

With a GM3D500 you can print with :

  • PLA - Polylactic acid.  A popular material among 3D printing enthusiasts. It is a biodegradable thermoplastic derived from renewable resources making it eco-friendly.
  • ABS - Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene. A very durable, slightly flexible, lightweight material that can be easily extruded, making it perfect for 3D printing.
  • T-Glase -A high strength PolyEthylene Terephthalate polymer that prints with the standard settings used for PLA but with a print temperature of about 235C. All of the cooling profiles and techniques used for PLA apply.
  • Laywood - Made from 40% recycled wood combined with polymer binders allowing it to be melted and extruded like all of the other commercially available 3D filaments on the market today. In addition to smelling and feeling like wood, this filament also has the ability to change its color shade depending on the temperature of your extrusion head.
  • Hips - Made from a High Impact Polystyrene material, has a bright white color and it is also biodegradable.
  • Nylon - Known for its great bio-compatibility, which is widely used in medical industry.  There are several types of Nylon material used in 3D printing, the most popular of them are Nylon 618, which has natural white color, and Nylon 645, which is fairly clear but can be difficult to work with.
  • PETG - PETGs (or copolyester) are glycol modified PETs; the modification is done by adding a second glycol during polymerization. The resulting molecular structure is irregular and the resin is clear and amorphous with a glass transition temperature of 88 C (190 F). PETGs can be processed over a wider processing range than conventional PETs and offer good combination of properties such as toughness, clarity, and stiffness.
  • LayBrick - This filament has many of the same qualities as Laywood, most importantly the close to zero warp. However, unlike its cousin, LayBrick is specifically intended to be used with maxi-sized 3D printers, for larger applications including architectural modelling and landscaping purposes.
  • eSUN Bronzefill PLA - This filament is the ideal choice for unique sculptures and prints with an antique or metallic effect. A low extruding temperature with good strength and elasticity are some of the print highlights of this series.
  • Printing with two different colors of plastic becomes very easy.
  • You can print with 2 different materials (ex. PVA and ABS).
    • PVA is that it’s water soluble. This means you can put your part in warm water and the PVA will dissolve away. This is great usage for support material.
